Award rules, in plain English.
Businesses and organizations must be operating in Wake County, or demonstrably serving it, during 2026. You can nominate your own business. Give us a specific example, a website, and the community they serve.
Our editors assess community contribution, evidence of thoughtful service, local character, and the strength of the examples supplied. We may consult primary sources and seek further information. Category fit and eligibility are checked before selection.
No purchase is required. Paying for advertising, sponsorship, a listing, or award materials cannot influence selection. Editorial and commercial decisions are separate. Judges disclose material relationships and recuse themselves where there is a conflict; if an independent review cannot be arranged, the entry is excluded.
We may decline to make an award in a category where there is insufficient verified evidence. Submissions are private, may be combined when duplicated, and are not published automatically. False or abusive nominations are excluded. No cash prize is offered.
Selected recipients have a public award page and a digital badge. Winners have not been selected yet. Questions or corrections can be shared with our editors.
