Wake Forest’s public tennis facilities are getting a funding boost. On October 15, 2026, the town announced a $200,000 grant from the United States Tennis Association’s Tennis Venue Services program for the reconstruction of six courts at J.B. Flaherty Park.
That grant joins $100,000 from USTA Southern and $5,000 from USTA North Carolina, bringing the three announced awards to $305,000. The town says the reconstructed courts will support league play, youth programming and other public tennis activities.
The town’s project page also describes replacement fencing, water fountains, restroom and storage facilities, accessibility work and pickleball lines on selected courts. Its current cost estimate is $1.4 million. The October 15 announcement targets completion in spring 2027; that is a planned schedule, not a reopening guarantee.
